Dianne Ford, president of Invitation City is well known for her strong work ethic. She has received numerous awards, certificates and much praise for her value as an employee, business partner, business owner, friend and associate. Dianne was acknowledged by BDPA Information Technology Thought Leaders for her role in the workshop Surviving Corporate America. Her strong work ethic is matched by her willingness to mentor and direct others, and participate in community and other volunteer efforts.
Dianne is a graduate of Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and has attended classes at Cuyahoga Community College and Ursuline College. Her work and business related training includes numerous classes in efficacy, human relations, marketing, software operation, staff support, and stress management.
A retired employee of SBC-Ameritech, Dianne's 31 years of service included numerous positions with predecessor companies Ohio Bell, and Ameritech. Her last position at SBC-Ameritech involved technical and logistics support for a staff of twelve middle managers and others. During her employment and since her retirement, she has maintained her involvement with the SBC-Ameritech Pioneers, a volunteer organization consisting of current and former employees that provides mentoring and other community support activities.
Since her retirement from SBC-Ameritech, Dianne worked part-time for several years at T.J. Maxx in Twinsburg, Ohio. Her hard work, eagerness to learn, and ability to attract customers earned her a promotion to Lead Jewelry Associate. In that position, she created life-long friendships by offering friendly but candid advice to customers.
A member of the Mt. Zion Church of Oakwood Village, Dianne participates actively in church programs, functions and ministries. She is a member of the Feed The Hungry Ministry and the Welcome Ministry. Dianne has used her ability to motivate others to mentor several young ladies at Mt. Zion, including being a mentor during two of Mt. Zion's Cotillions. In addition, she participates as a Prayer Partner and mentors almost anyone who appears headed for trouble.
Dianne's service to others include supporting the efforts of friends and family in achieving their personal and professional goals. She served for many years as a member of the Ford-Bryson (her husband's) Family Reunion Chapter, including four years as president of that organization.
Dianne is currently an active member of the "Friends of C.A.T.", an organization of volunteers supporting the Cleveland Art Theatre. With no thought of failure, She forges ahead to go over, under and around obstacles while others are contemplating their next or their first move. In January of 2006, without being asked, Dianne purchased 75 tickets to a single play, reselling them one by one at her discounted price, just to "help someone out."
Dianne's personality, determination and background make her extremely qualified to provide the leadership, direction and energy necessary to operate Invitation City. Because of her commitment to others, Invitation City continues to achieve and surpass its goals of excellent and uncompromising products and service.
